StoneCreek

StoneCreek is a 5-piece original band from Memphis, Tn. This young, talented and energetic group of musicians will surely blow your mind with lyrical depth expressed within harmonic guitar purity. The group got its start when brothers Blake Cox, already an established studio drummer along with Tyler Cox, a young, driven guitarist/pianist came together with a common love for music. Many players came and went, but the first to stick with the project was Brett Smith on lead guitar/vocals. Soon to join was an old family friend, David Oliver on lead vocals. His sound was exactly what the songs needed and quickly took to the project. Last to join was Dave Cowell on bass guitar/vocals. His success as a touring musician brought a seasoned, musical direction into the already forming foundation. With good tunes and fun players, the bass chair established itself as a solid fit in the band.

Two years after forming and developing, they are now ready to bring their sound to the masses by recording an album and performing live. The shows and recordings will speak for themselves, and they hope to bring something fresh and enjoyable to a wide variety of listeners. If this band can make a statement that brings a positive change in any way to anyone, they will feel as though they’ve done something worthwhile.

David, the band's elder member at 24, is the front man and vocalist for the band. A prolific songwriter, who has been singing professionally around the country since he was in high school, he is also a proficient guitar and bass player.

Dave Cowell is the over achieving basses of the band. By the age of 20 he was already on tour with big named acts including Breaking Point and Scott Stapp. Now at 22 his rhythm and musical knowledge are apparent when you see this seasoned musician live.

Tyler is youngest person the band at 18, but don’t be fooled by this young guitar player’s age. He is more than just schooled in rock n’ roll he spends his days schooling others as a guitar teacher at Collierville Music Academy. Tyler is sure to impress anyone at any age while he plays guitar and piano for StoneCreek.

Bret Smith is lead guitarist of the band. He is in his third year as a music industry student at the University of Memphis. Bret is a talented guitar player and songwriter and at 20 years of age has many accomplishments all ready under his belt.

Blake Cox is the percussionist of the band. Blake started his music career at the age of 15 playing around the southeast in clubs and venues he wasn’t even allowed to be in. Now, at 20, he is a seasoned session drummer for many studios in Memphis including Ardent, LeeWay and SoundScape. He also teaches drum students at the Collerville Music Academy.
