Bio

The Stonekuttaz is a group that consists of two brothers Ronald Trotter (Heron DeJesus) and Emmanuel Hopkins (Slick Mone`). They currently reside in Elkhart, IN. Both were born in Benton Harbor MI. Heron is the oldest of the two he gained most of his exposure from the streets of South Bend IN. While coming up they both struggled with their passion for music and life on the move. Emmanuel gained his notoriety on the streets of South Bend, California and Michigan. Coming from a single parent home they moved around the country with their mother who was trying to escape the life of living with an abusive husband this was the fuel that fed their fire. In 2003 Heron joined Old Head Records out of Atlanta GA while with Old Head records he did countless shows in the Midwest and Dirty South regions. In 2005 Heron dropped his first album self entitled (Are You Feeling Me). Later that year he released a single called Summer Time Heat Wave from that summer on the community of Michana looked to Heron for the latest and hottest music representing summer time. In 2007 Slick Mone` joined Old Head Records. Slick Mone` was the first one in his high school to have CD’s, t-shirts with the Old Head Records logo’s so his fan base grew astronomically. In 2008 their first album Lake Effect debuted. During the next two years he continued to groom Slick Mone` into an artist everyone would love. After leaving Old head Records in 2010 Heron And Slick decided it was time to show the world their raw talent. In 2011 they dropped two mix tapes (Word On The Street) and (Taliban Music). Since, Heron and Slick have worked with many local artists and have even opened for major artist. Even with all the work they’ve put in they have still not achieved the level of success they would like so they continue to strive and put out the music that can relate to any and everyone’s feelings. After all who wants to listen to music if it doesn’t make them feel good.
