"Fan Review 2"

I really enjoyed the ferocity and passion you invest in the music. It stands out clearly. There's also this edge to it that I can only describe as deliciously wicked. That's an odd descriptor, I'll grant, but it's exactly what came to mind, reminding me vaguely of some of the tracks on Concrete Blonde's Bloodletting, only better, richer, and far more powerful. - A Fan

"Fan Review"

In my opinion, there just aren't enough powerful, edgy female vocalists anymore. You don't hear many women anymore who match the raw, visceral passion of some of the greats from the 70's and 80's, so it's really kind of a thrill to hear someone who still captures that power. It's also encouraging because it's the kind of example I'd like my daughter to see. For her role models, I'll take strength, passion, and conviction over the fluff and bubble gum of today's pop princess pansies any day. - A Fan

Bio

The world is ripe for rebellion. Enter: Stone the King.

The group culls from a wide range of influences, including Clutch, Galactic, and Zeppelin. Expect solid, in-your-face rock tracks to make Black Sabbath proud, with an aggressive progressive edge channeling The Refused. The band hashes groovy psychedelic jams reminiscent of the Black Angels, slides into Black Keys blues, and then dubs like King Tubby. Brace yourself for a tumultuous reign of tones.

Stone the King’s dynasty started among friends, a combination of sonic individualism and an unhealthy interest in Stonehenge. Wilder belts out poetic lyrics as only an accomplished actress could, weaving literary references into her prose for those who might get them. Haskell, a devotee of hard rock and dirty riffs from down-South, is a New York native who found his soul in New Orleans. Kaskela, the bastard child of Flea and Robert de Leo, has a lifetime’s worth of classical music awards that his family would love to show you. St. Julien, a lively drummer who channels funky beats even as he pounds punk and runs the petals in heavy metal thunder, is also a jazz saxophonist.

We cordially invite you to join us for a musical cacophony of epic proportions, where everyone’s equal and we can all Stone the King.
