"I really think your band is exceptional."

“I absolutely love 'VU Dou River!" On my drive to work I played that song several times over and over... I am a big fan of early 70's Heavy Soul, Curtis Mayfield, Betty Davis and Sly. And your vocals and Bass Player? God help me that voice is amazing, and has a great groove. The Bass player is beautiful as well! I hope we can play together on the same bill soon, I really think your band is exceptional.” - Charles Barrow - A Fan

""The Southern Voice Magazine""

"On the Coca-Cola Stage: Stoni Taylor & Miles of Stone — an Atlanta rock and soul band headed by the sexy Stoni Taylor. The group kicks off the final day.... The show was simply amazing." - "The Southern Voice Magazine"

"It’s a treat to hear someone who has something decent and worthwhile to sing about.""

"In a city where there are a lot of wannabes, it’s a treat to hear someone who can actually sing and play–and who has something decent and worthwhile to sing about."

"S.O.U.L. eMagazine"

“Experimental Soul sounds commonly include styles which fuse down-tempo rhythms with soulful accents. Also, this style is equally identified with next generation R&B orchestral rhythms and new age funk. Includes artists like: Erykah Badu, Zaki Ibrahim, Amanda Ray, and Stoni Taylor.” - S.O.U.L. eMagazine

"One of the richest, raspiest voices~"

"When listening to Stoni Taylor’s husky voice over acoustic guitar accompaniment, you hear something deeper than the average vocalist....this guy absolutely lights up the stage with this old soul antics. "

"The Sentinal Magazine"

"Stoni's music reaches all the way into the spirit's and souls of all who experiences it, and his live show - It seems once this happens, people become loyal follower's of this new movement."
- Willie Hunter

"Something deeper than the average vocalist."

"When listening to Stoni Taylor’s husky voice over acoustic guitar accompaniment, you hear something deeper than the average vocalist. I hear something that a lot of acoustic singer/musicians attempt to reach for, but just miss."

Bio

"Well...how did I get here...?" Stoni Taylor & Miles Of Stones have definitely taken the roads less travelled, and their music reflects that sense of itinerant longing.

Spearheaded by frontman and Atlanta native Stoni Taylor, he of the unmistakable voice and clever turn of phrase, and backed by comrades-in-arms Miles Of Stones (New Orleans-bred Edgar Clark Jr. on drums, Detroiter Tami Stanko on bass and Andrew Haddad of Atlanta on lead guitar), the group delivers seamless grooves and powerful musicianship. With Stoni throwing in bits of organ and rhythm guitar to round out the arrangements, the band somehow knows how to keep it loose while keeping it tight.

While it's fair to say that the band's influences are broad and deep, everything from traditional gospel to 70s singer-songwriters to hip-hop to rock and back, they are able to elegantly combine and conquer, fusing disparate voices into something new, yet familiar and engaging.

Both self-assured and unassuming, Stoni and the group create a vibe where the audience feels as though they are sharing in some secret, ancient wisdom, all while having a damn good time!
