Winter/Spring 2010 Thank you for looking at our promo kit!
Stop, Drop and Rock! Is made up of 4 musicians ages 13-14 who began playing together in fourth grade. Most of them began without any prior experience singing or playing instruments and now many of them play different roles during their performances, switching instruments and taking turns on vocals. Miles Cabrera provides a solid foundation on drums and can also be seen playing bass and guitar. He has contributed to writing many of our original songs, adding music to lyrics written by the band or his friends. Starla is our new lead vocalist and brings her beautiful voice in to the mix. Rory Reshovsky is our intrepid lead guitarist, with five years background in acoustic, classical guitar. He brings intense focus, technical support and commitment to the band that is much appreciated. His searing guitar riffs and power chords make the audience marvel at his giant sound!
In the last 5 years they have played several local events on the island and the Puget Sound. Beginning with the Teddy Bear Tea 2005 at the Community Theatre, Stop, Drop & Rock! has played the SJ Prevention Coalition New Year’s Eve Family Celebration and the PTA Talent Show for many years in a row. They have played Roche Harbor Resort and The Second Chance Prom with their music mentors, Ben Rice and the Youth of Blues. They enjoyed playing the monthly open mic at The Grange during the summer of 2006 and have played private parties and donated their fee to funding music and dance scholarships for their fellow students. Every year, they rock the San Juan County Fairgrounds, debuting their new originals. The last two summers they played the Casbah and Main Stage at The Summer Meltdown in Darrington and recorded a demo at The Rock & Roll Conservatory in Auburn. They host Rock Shop workshops that provide affordable musical instruction for their peers and have helped organize a fundraiser for rebuilding efforts in New Orleans. At this time, they have over 45 minutes of material including 6 originals and several covers. They continue to pursue their own musicianship and work together to creatively express themselves. Please visit our myspace page to hear our originals, view our photos and read our blogs at www.myspace.com/imaginarycreativearts or you can call or email us for booking shows or to receive a press kit.
