Bio

Store Bought Rebels are a skilled, young, hard-hitting punk outfit hailing from Chicago, Illinois. They meld hook laden melodies and emotional lyrics with the driving aggression born in the roots of punk rock creating a fresh original sound. Over the last two years the Rebels have taken Chicago audiences by storm drawing large crowds to clubs all over the city and garnering support from local radio. In 2006 Store Bought Rebels bring the campaign nationwide with their first, much anticipated full length album.

At the beginning of 2004, two of Chicago’s most promising young bands joined creative forces to become a cohesive punk machine. They took a look around and saw a world where rebellion was bought and sold – where a Mohawk is a chic fashion statement, punk band t-shirts come in pastel colors and are $40 at Urban Outfitters, and the clothing you wear is enough to label you “Punk.” The boys felt that their generation had gone off course, become complacent, and somehow lost their sense of outrage at the world’s lack of social conscience. Hence, Store Bought Rebels were formed as an answer to all those who have lost sight of what is really worth fighting for.

Isaac P., Michael H., and Nick D. first joined forces while playing in the vibrant Chicago band, One and a Quarter. In an effort to take the project to the next level they looked to the songwriting skills of 7 Minute Abs guitarist, Joe M.. After a thirty minute session in the studio with Isaac, Nick and Michael, Joe was quickly stolen from his other band and recruited as an additional guitarist. Soon after, bassist Cozmo T. was added to the mix and Store Bought Rebels were officially born.

With a clear vision and a fresh new line-up Store Bought Rebels rapidly began melding the writing skills of all five band members and producing new material. Upon completing the single Master Plan it became apparent that there was something significant in the works and the group decided to lay down some professional tracks. The boys tapped Doug McBride and the staff at Gravity Studios to help them record their first three song demo.

Demo in hand, Store Bought Rebels were sought out by the Los Angeles based manager, Jonathan Todd, and his firm Sabre Entertainment. Todd brought a whole new range of opportunities for Store Bought Rebels. The band is currently in post-production on their much anticipated debut EP slated for release in 2007.
