Bio

When you think of Hip-Hop and New Jersey you think of artists coming out of places like Newark, East Orange, and Jersey City. That will no longer be the case; New Jersey has a new group of hip-hop “souljahs” the go by the name “Stormtrooperz”. Though most of Jersey’s hip-hop artist has claimed the northern part of the state as home, this band of hip-hop souljahs hail from the southern part of the state. The city of Vineland “Crimeland” or “V-city” other names tagged to NJ’s largest city (in area) is the place they call home. The group’s members General Jocovi, JoYoung, and T-Breeze fall into formation to bring the NJ rap scene full circle and hip-hop as a whole new life.

The Stormtrooperz, may have felt "Trapped In The City" when they recorded their debut CD, but their first single released on there own label Imperial Entertainment, seemed to have found a way out. "Rain's Fallin’," the lead single off "Trapped In The City," had earned increased airplay across the country since its late-December 05 release and had a debut at number (7) seven on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles sales list. In addition to its success on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart, "Rain's Fallin’ " came in at number (45) forty five on the overall singles chart and at number (100) one hundred on Billboards Top 200 Hot Tracks. The charts are based on radio airplay and sales. The single was number (45) forty-five on the national ranking compiled by Nielsen Soundscan for the week ending Jan. 1. It also has appeared on AOL's Phat 50 R&B.

The Stormtrooperz decided to release the “Trapped In The City album” after huge online success on the acclaimed indie website Garageband.com. The group won (15) fifteen awards and ranked high overall among all Hip-Hop indie groups 3,458 in all. In the Detroit Free Press they out ranked Detroit native Trick Trick who is backed by Hip-Hop superstar Emenim. Recently they have released the mix cd “Bezelnairs” hosted by Team Invasion and Green Lantern. When asked about the title of the mixtape they said “it’s in reference to there business team called The Bezels Fam, who won “Best of Show” at the “06” Funk Flex Car Show in Atlantic City. With there own label, there business team the Bezels Fam., artists in development, and fans now all over the world the Stormtrooperz have shown that they mean to rain on Hip-Hop.
