Bio
One day, sitting under his great-great-grandfather's Bodhi tree, meditating on life, liberty, and the pursuit of the dance floor, Justin Hunter Scott got the sudden urge to make music. So he maxed out his credit cards, flew to Tahiti, and swapped his copy of Blonde on Blonde for lessons in music-making from an unnameable wizard there. He lived deep within the jungles of that land for nine months, after which he returned to Washington, DC to spread his gift to the world.
Influenced by Passion Pit, Yeasayer, 3am dance parties, and tons of grimy hip-hop, Stout Cortez is as emotive as it is danceable, as catchy as it is complex, as fun as it is cerebral. On top of that, few artists can match this kid's stage presence.
