It was by far one of the best nights at Club 5 last night. All the bands were absolutely outstanding! Straight to Audio put on one helluva kick ass acoustic set that was right up there with anything you'd see on MTV's "Unplugged", Downcycle took the stage shortly after and gave the crowd a kick ass dose of their powerful rock. Now, everyone knows that Chris (Izzy on JaxBands) has been busting his ass to get the right players together and he has certainly succeeded as his band Downcast kept the great music coming with an incredible set of their home brewed blend of alternative metal. That brings us to the last but not least of last night's impressive lineup, The Mission Dolls. Picture Sasha singing seductively in a cage, guys Yeah, need I say more? Well, I have to. What a perfect way to top of an already outstanding night of music than with TMD. A great time was had by all and every band had such great sounding gear, so a lot of the credit goes to these bands for making themselves sound so great. It really makes my job easier and I want to thank you all in return for that. Mixing all of you was a pleasure and I'm sure I'll mix you again sometime. Straight to Audio is a rock band from Jacksonville, Fl whose sound stays true to traditional blues-based rock, while incorporating the edgy feel of modern alternative music. The sound is a mixture of powerful vocals on top of a thunderous backbeat, mixed with a complex arrangement of guitar work that goes from light and melodic to loud and heavy in the blink of an eye. The band formed in November of 2002 and the reception from the local music scene was warm. They quickly began booking larger venues and playing with top notch local and national talent. In September 2003, the band produced their first studio demo while continuing to practice and improve their live show. Straight to Audio has now developed into a well polished act with the ability to both excite and subdue audiences.
