Lightning Then The Rain

Lightning The The Rain:
Strain Busy Sky Copyright 2010

It seems to be just like any other day,
The sun was shining in an unusual way,
But the cars were going by at a snails pace,
At a snails pace,

I saw a girl in workboots holding a sign, she said slow down man,
The bridge is out, you have plenty of time,
I saw an old man running by himself, with a smile on his face and his
Hat pulled down..

I miss the simple things in life, like hiding from the monsters in the dark

The downtown trains were humping,
Children warm inside their schools,
I wish that I was somewhere else instead of, following the news

I miss the simple things in life, like hiding from the monsters in the dark

I was afraid to walk outside,
The clouds were black from the tears we cried,
Nowhere to hide,
First Lightning Then The Rain

Well I wish that I could climb inside of time,
And Id roll around in there with friends of mine,
While we had crossed the fields of heartache on the horizon,
Someone harvested the fear while we were crying,

I miss the simple things in life, like hiding from the monsters in the dark

I was afraid to walk outside,
The clouds were black from the tears we cried,
Nowhere to hide,
First Lightning Then The Rain
-Solo
-Heavy Chorus

There was lightning then the Rain.
