"Bent Nights: By Vern Hester"

"S.B.S. is punchy and has bite and they play with a stinging resonance and cohesion that's rare. Frontman Phil Trocchio is something unique unto himself. A bona-fide old-school soul man who is both ungimmicky and emotionally naked to the point of vulnerability".
"Blessed with a whiskey soaked snap, Trocchio is the heir to a line of fine white soul vocalists, but the man is so damn endearing and sincere on stage that it's hard to not watch him. Better still is the band's interplay, a sort of jolly camaraderie entrenched in the music”. - Windy City Times
