"Artist Reach"

Insatiable rhyming techniques, dynamically laid back beats with a witty and compelling lyrical approach that make Hip Hop Pioneers, Strangers of Necessity, a force to be reckoned with.

Especially with their LP release The Layover. A vibrant collection of tracks that have that undeniable chillout feel. Something you can lay back and smoke a nice blunt to, but at the same time allows you to hear their artistic merit through the Rappers’ fresh rhymes that easily encompass their brand of Hip Hop that gives SON the defining factors of their branded and blended sound, and persona.

With each track bringing something fresh to the table, the tracks that stood out to me as the best single-worthy anthems and undeniable first impressions are “Revolving Door” and the banger “Get Some”. Chillout tracks with charismatic forefronts between the rhymers that keep you on your toes, and the vibe still chill and genuinely abrasive at the same time... - Justyn Brodsky

"The12Block"

On The Layover, the Strangers Of Necessity duo ( frontman Fooch the MC and uprising sound provider CoryaYo ) float a steady storm of manipulated loops and clever rhyme displays that coalesce into an understated batch of lo-fi hip hop vibrance. Fooch‘s nimbleness on the microphone is easily infectious and recalls the off-the-cuff, freestylin’-over-breaks vibe of such master/teachers as Del The Funky Homosapien and MURS. In fact, for the majority of The Layover, CoryaYo seems to purposely play the background and allow Fooch to chew up the spotlight with champion MC mic marauding. On a positive note, this approach allows for a focused and well defined sound – one that betrays the calmly floating cover art of the album and instead pelts listeners with athletic rhyme shots in near marathon form. - MRVN

"RadioJuicy"

The album has an authentic old school vibe and plays out flawlessly. CoryaYo drops the illest beats while Fooch provides the exact words and flow. Everything works out incredibly well, this is a real head nodder, let it transpose you in the world of Strangers Of Necessity! - RadioJuicy

Bio

"Strangers Of Necessity consist of producer, CoryaYo from Iowa City, IA., and veteran rhyme sayer, Fooch the MC from Chicago, IL. They linked up and quickly became friends, sparking an immediate chemistry and need to make quality music together; hence the name Strangers Of Necessity. They instantly began recording music and doing shows locally, generating a nice buzz in the area. Fooch is a seasoned lyricist and has featured on tracks with the likes of GLC, Naledge, Black Milk and Vic Spencer. CoryaYo is a blossoming and versatile producer and has placements with artist like Audio Push, Chester Watson and HighLife. Their sound is best described as a fresh take on that golden era of hip-hop, blending tasteful jazz and soul samples, crisp snares, boomy kicks on wonky patterns with a soulful delivery, dense schemes and potent punch-lines that hit peaks before unseen. Strangers Of Necessity now better acquainted and constantly adding shows to their calendar, are hoping to bring you retro fresh beats and rhymes that speak to right now; giving you that feeling that can only be described as "goose bump music." Two people, two different worlds, one common goal... make good music. The return of the rapper/producer duo is here! Their new LP, The Layover, is out now on Radio Juicy records."
