Biography

Built on a foundation of slick guitar riffs, tight bass lines, and syncopated drum beats, Stranger than Fate is definitely a band that has enough talent to move forward. Stranger than Fate is a 3 piece hard rock band anchored in Upstate New York. In the band are music veterans Kristopher Mays (lead vocals/guitar) Jim Morris (drums), and Tim Harriman (bass and back-up vocals). But behind the music, there is a message. That message is Jesus Christ. Behind everything written by the band is their relationship with Him. Since forming in July of 2007, they have recorded and released a self-produced demo CD, “Let myself be new…” and have played shows all over upstate New York. In January of 2010 Stranger than Fate signed to the independent record label Red Cord Records, based in Loves Park, IL. Their efforts in the studio recently culminated in the release of their first full length album, “Making the Man”. The band compares their sound to that of Staind, 12 Stones, and Red. The band’s rock style has an edgy modern flavor, that also includes “old-school” hardcore breakdowns. Armed with the knowledge that Christians and God get a bad rap at times, the guys in the band aim to change hearts and minds by showing that God is relational, and that He’s not this big giant in heaven with a rule book waiting to crush humanity. Stranger than Fate is planning to continue playing shows throughout New York and beyond.
