"Stray Bulletz to take aim"

Together for just more than a year, Central Coast band Stray BulletZ are making a big impression on the region's music. "Our main passion in life is to write ,create and perform music" singer Kiam Robertson said. "Being we are residents of the coast we draw most of our inspiration for songs from the surrounding areas" The band was formed in April 2008 when Robertson met keyboardist Simon Fletcher. When performing in a battle of the bands later that year they met Rob Chillem who soon became the newest member of the band on bass. Then came drummer Graeme Healy ad Shane Pinder on guitar. As well as music the boys enjoy relaxing with a beer or two at Terrigal and that's how they came up with the name.

"We were sitting around one afternoon drinking Super Drys talking about the band, and it was mentioned that the beers looked a little like silver bullets" Fletcher said. "Being that all of us are from different styles of musc and backgrounds we see ourselves a bit like strays, the black sheep if you will, so when you put the two together the name kind of speaks for itself."

The boys describe the band as "a bit of rock, some grunge, punkl with a spoonful of funk and a bit of everything else in between". The band is currently working on recording it's first studio album but in the meantime is hoping to do as many shows as possible. "We're all about the energy especially with live shows" Chillem said.
"We don't play to prove anything to anyone man, we just love to rock out and involve te crowd" he said. - Express Advocate (Central Coast), News Limited (6.05.2009)

Bio

Stray BulletZ are an up and coming Central Coast band who's main passion in life is to write, create and perform music. Being that they are residence of the coast they draw most of their inspiration for their songs from the surrounding areas of the beautiful New South Wales Central Coast, Australia .

In April 2008, Kiam met Simon Fletcher at the Crowne Hotel in Terrigal and after a few discussions and jams together Simon was asked to join the band. A few weeks after they were fortunate enough to land a few gigs and on the October long weekend 2008 after winning a Battle of the bands they also gained a fantastic new bass player Rob Chillem, who came up to them after the competition and asked if they wanted to have a jam with him, and after the first gathering he was scooped up and apart of the crew.

After the breakup of their old band X-fire, Stray BulletZ had to find a drummer with a new flavor and happened to find Graeme Healy who was keen to join a band again. ''I remember the first night i met Gra was at a party at my jay, he played the drum machine like a maniac" says Kiam. It only took the first jam at the studio and he was more than welcomed aboard. Not long after that Rob introduced Shane Pinder to the Stray Bulletz crew for a jam. Rob and Shane have been friends for awhile and have jammed together for a few years. Shane is a singer/songwriter with an amazing ability to write melodies and harmonies not to mention his killer guitar riffs, so the new band has been formed...like a pheonix rising from the ashes!
