Bio

Christian Washington from New Orleans, Louisiana is a gifted rapper known to most as "Kidd". "Kidd", short for "Street Kidd" grew up in the uptown portion of New Orleans, more specifically the 12th ward. He grew up with a genuine love for music encompassing all genres. Kidd picked up a pen at a young age when he met his first producer and DJ, DJ Moon. DJ Moon showed him how to hone and perfect an original, yet familiar flow. Together they created an underground Mixtape titled "The Street Kidd", hence the name. That one release created a noteworthy buzz for the young rapper and even launched his debut into live performances performing at venues around the city. Following the success of the first release, Hype Enuff Records offered Kidd a spot on their compilation album which was distributed throughout the city as well. Kidd continued shopping material and promoting by himself with unsatisfactory results. Several indie labels approached for sit downs but none offered Kidd a comfortable home and functional environment from which he could create. When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Kidd relocated to Atlanta and later, Houston. Being introduced to new music scenes and new styles of music further inspired Kidd to continue his career as an MC. In Houston he ran an in house studio recording his own music over whatever tracks were available to him in an effort to broaden his ability. When returning home became a possibility, Kidd wasted no time returning home to "build" his name back into the city that first inspired him. Lack of facilities in New Orleans put his project on hold but with help from family (his older brother specifically) he kept his heart in music. Determined and ready to work, Kidd came across Alex "Pac" White, an upcoming producer and engineer in the city. "From day one, it was magic", says Street Kidd on working with Alex White. They would continue to work and bond over their love of real hip-hop as well as their mutual understanding of hip hop's role today. This commonality eventually led to Alex White signing on to manage Street Kidd. Together the two are headed into the industry armed with the knowledge, talent and determination to "Get Familiar". Without further introduction, we present "Street Kidd".
