Biography

The Street Poets (The Poets) or perhaps better known as “The Best 2 Man Group Since Run-D.M.C.” hail from Long Island, New York. FLOW and Touch are destined to bring Long Island back following such greats as Public Enemy, Rakim and EPMD. The Poets movement has already been “co-signed” by hip hop legends and top notch DJ’s such as DJ Cutmaster C, Jam Master Jay’s brother, Underground Music Awards DJ of the year, Superstar Jay and Desert Storm/MTV/Power 105.1’s DJ Don Domarco. The Poets have an undeniable, unbelievable and an unbeatable 1-2 punch that the hip-hop industry hasn’t yet seen since Run-D.M.C. FLOW and Touch started rapping together over 8 years ago, as they were childhood friends sharing a common dream. One half of The Poets, FLOW grew up in Hempstead, Long Island but moved around the Tri-State in Foster Homes and Group Home Facilities. FLOW’s style is very in your face yet smooth and laid back at the same time. Touch grew up in Far Rockaway, Queens than later moved to Baldwin, Long Island at age 15. Touch’s style is very unique and original as in he sounds like no other artist. The Poets separate themselves from the masses, by their prolific lyrical ability as well as their individual original styles. The Poets can easily dismantle careers with their almighty, effectual lyrics; however, The Poets are looking to take the direction of making classic music for their worldwide audience to enjoy. “We Make Hits”, simply stated, is the best way to interpret The Poets foundation and core musical purpose. The Street Poets have constructed an every-angle-covered, flawless concoction which procreated the classic album entitled The Best 2 Man Group Since Run D.M.C. This LP includes 5 undecided hit first singles including the untitled track featuring Uncle Murda (Roc-a-fella Def Jam). Another, is a get your Diddy on smash record featuring the first lady of Lil’ Wayne’s Young Money Ent. Nicki Minaj; entitled “Take That”. The street single, “You Ain’t Like Me“, features Timbaland’s protégé and MTV 2007 VMA performer, D.O.E. (Mosley Music Group/Interscope Records). The female favorite “Crush On Me”, a smooth classic, everybody can relate to song featuring Up-and-Coming R&B sensation Rick. “Just Swaggin”, the transforming, club monster featuring Nina B (Ravenel Records). This timeless album also even features the legendary Reggae artist, Super Cat, on the Caribbean anthem “Pull Up”. The superior production on this masterpiece album also includes Multi-Platinum award winning producers such as; Lab Ox (50 Cent “part time lover”, B.G., Trey Songz, T.I.), Rick Steel (Ja Rule, Ashanti ) Shatek (DMX, Fabolous, Stack Bundles). Doe Boy(Stack Bundles, 40 Cal), Urban Tactics, GM Productions & Many More. The Poets DVD hosted by Real Talk TV is entitled Poetic Justice. This DVD features the making of The Best 2 Man Group Since Run-D.M.C. album at the Legendary, Legends Recording Studio in Times Square NYC. (Legends Studio was home to music legends such as Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis, Mariah Carey, 2pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Rick James, Prince, and Madonna.). Along with 9 new Street Poets music videos, this “Classic DVD” also features exclusive studio footage with Uncle Murda, Cutmaster C, French Montana’s Birthday, and a Times Square rooftop party featuring Shea Davis, Bonds, DJ Don Domarco, Nina B, and Attic Sounds. Aside from the album and DVD, The Poets have an arsenal of tracks including features with Mazaradi Fox (G-Unit), French Montana, soulful R&B singer Denise Weeks (featured on Jim Jones’s “My Diary”), T.L, Shea Davis, Storm P, Bonds, One Shot, and many more. You can see The Poets on The Come Up DVD, Real Talk DVD’s, Cutmaster C’s DVD’s & Mixtapes, Dre Most Hood Affairs DVD’s, Superstar Jay Mixtapes, DJ Whiteowl mixtapes, and much more.
