"STREETZ ON FIRE"

An electronic/hip-hop duo born from founding members of punk rock band Averman, Streetz On Fire has an eclectic sound, to say the least. Elements of grimy hip-hop mixed with clean, polished electronic beats makes for a dancey, fun combination. Their attitude, energy and aggressive beats draw comparisons to the likes of 3Oh!3, and a dirtier, darker Cobra Starship.

Bio

Originality is something that is often hard to come by these days. People want to be mirror images of the stars they see today. David Braxton and Zach Brown want no part in that.

Here the story goes...

Since they were kids they have both played in successful touring rock bands in the state of Virginia. Zach Brown played with metal band We Were Gentlemen (Century Media) and Andover who recorded with Lee Dyess (From First to Last, Mayday Parade). He played numerous shows but just felt something was missing.

David Braxton had been programming and creating electronic music since 2002 and started slowly becoming Virginia's best kept secret. His production is deeply based in hip-hop but with a strong electronic twist using heavy modulated bass as well as trance based synthesizers.

Both came together for the first time to play music in another successful Virginia based Pop-Punk band known as Averman who was signed to independent label Roundkid Records. Brown and Braxton and had high hopes for Averman when they received attention from Jesse Cannon who was managing and recording many successful acts such as Man Overboard, Transit, Limp Bizkit, and the Dillinger Escape Plan.

Brown and Braxton had strong expectations for the band but unfortunately different mindsets forced the band to disband at the time. The two had been making music on the side however. They had a released a three song demo that was all self produced but mixed by Mark Padgett (mae). They felt they had something unique they wanted to share with the world.

Streetz on Fire had been picking up a bit of steam. They had been playing large local electronic events in the area. Seeing the reception they got from the crowd they knew they had something. They began talks with Jesse Cannon about recording and a few months later The Repetition of Nightlife was created. The Repetition of Nightlife received great reviews and Streetz on Fire decided it was time to make the side project a priority.

A few months later Streetz on Fire got the attention of Grammy award-winning producer Nottz Raw. Nottz Raw has done production for many great acts and legends such as Kanye West, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, and one of Braxton's favorites T.I. Nottz Raw did a remix of Streetz on Fire's single Sexy By Six.

Shortly after Streetz on Fire received attention from a California based A&R Jake Verluis of Position Music who offered Streetz on Fire one of their first publishing contract.

Streetz On Fire's work ethic and combination of unique production styles have made them a force to be reckoned with. With their over the top live show and catchy tunes they are destined to take the world by storm.

As of now Streetz on Fire will be recording their second official release with Jesse Cannon as well as release the Nottz Raw Edition of Sexy By Six in June of 2012. A video for the remix will be released shortly before. Be on the lookout all things Streetz on Fire.
