"Queer Musicians in Austin"

"Sugar, spice, and everything nice seem to be the secret formula for the talented people behind Stretch Panic. With their vibrant aesthetic and high energy jams fueled on glitter and rainbows, this pop outfit combines sunshine with garage rock creating a pure DIY sound." - Do512

"The Austinot Weekend Concert Picks: June 28-29, 2019"

"Continuing this week’s trend of lo-fi punk energy, all-female riot grrrl band Stretch Panic takes the Hard Luck Lounge stage for an evening of snarl guitars and bouncy percussion. Fun, poppy garage rock songs about vampire infatuation and occult crushes, Stretch Panic’s sound bypasses the usual earworms and invades the brain with an inescapable, infectious sound.

And to tack onto the theme of helping bands in need, the show celebrates the launch of Stretch Panic’s Indiegogo campaign–the band wants to fund its next record. Given the joy and Austin weird presented in 2017’s “Ghost Coast EP,” I’d love to hear a little more from this hella-fun three-piece." - Bill Tucker - The Austinot

"Show Review: Broads and Boards Benefit at Hole in the Wall"

"Amid people milling about the Broads and Boards merch stand, browsing the buttons, stickers and shirts for sale, Stretch Panic take the stage and with their opening chord command the room’s attention. The floral-printed combat boots on guitarist MJ’s feet tap along in time to their electrifying blend of Riot Grrrl, ‘60s pop and garage rock. Jennifer Monsees’s outpouring of meaty, undeniable bass riffs infects everyone in earshot with head-nodding and knee-bopping.

The girl standing next to me takes a Snapchat video to post to her story and swipes through each filter option, but none can quite capture the vibe. She posts it unfiltered and without commentary." - James Fisk for OVRLD

Bio

Formed in Fall 2016, Stretch Panic is a 3pc garage-rock, ghoul-pop, unicorn-twee, dork-wave band out of Austin, TX that likes to dress like cartoons and sing about vampires. The band's sound is a witch's brew of riot girl post-punk, 60s throwback, and 90s quirk; a cutie-pie Frankenstein of groups like The Slits, The Raincoats, The Shangri-las, and The Unicorns, all sewn together with wicked giggles and wacky antics. Be warned, although you may hear happy go-lucky melodies, they disguise the often morbid themes of monsters, demons, and buckets of blood. A Stretch Panic live show is a complete ice cream swirl of weirdo fun that will haunt you silly.

Stretch Panic has nationally toured in support of their 2017 EP "Ghost Coast". The band has built up a strong base in Austin, and frequently performs in other towns around Texas. Their single, "Spirit Juice" was released fittingly Oct. 31st 2019. Recorded at King Electric Studios in Austin, Stretch Panic's debut full length album, "Glitter and Gore" will be released in 2020.
