Bio

Music band Stribor Kusturica and the Poisoners was formed in 2005, when the musicians gathered in Jagodina in Ceda's music studio, where they played together sessions that produced their specific and unique music style named kitsch-soul.
Kitsch-soul is the kind of music that fuses different styles and breaks genres, creating a dialogue between styles and instruments, making harmony from their differences. It is powerful music based on strong Balkan rhythms with Gypsy and Serbian “kafana” (pub) music at its roots, preserving the rawness, smell of tobacco and liquor, thus maintaining its authenticity. It intertwines and fuses with all world music styles. The main principle in Serbian and Gypsy music is that the songs are either happy or sad / cheerful or melancholic, and Stribor Kusturica and the Poisoners merge these two emotions in the best possible way.
Stribor Kusturica and the Poisoners are the authors of the soundtrack for Emir Kusturica’s short film "Blue Gypsy" (part of "All the Invisible Children"), the soundtrack for his latest feature "Promise Me This", and his latest short movie "Our Life".
They play all around the world and are working on the release of their new album produced by the French producer Philippe Avril.
