Strict 9

Strict 9 was the brainchild of guitarist Julian Gomez and drummer Roger Bethelmy in the mid 1990s. However, their relationship dates back to their childhood. Being life-long friends, it was no surprise that they shared mutual music tastes. Tbone was added on Bass and his energy is contagious. On vox Rome has added a new flavor to Strict 9 and with a lineup complete have started working on new music for 2006. The band has gone through some changes in the past few years and with a long hiatus has now been filled with energy and excitement toward the upcoming tours in 2006. The likes of Sabbath, Ozzy, and Metallica captivate them still to this day. They found that this genre of music allowed them to express their teenage angst, and sought to emulate Rhoads, Hammet, and Ulrich. The foundation for their music had been laid out: heavy staccato riffs and precision rhythms.

Strict 9 has become one of Sunset Strips most talked about upcoming bands. They have performed at Whisky a GoGo, The Roxy Theater, Key Club and The Coconut Teaszer. In addition, Strict 9 completed their second release entitled Illusion in 2001. They have worked relentlessly on their new recordings to match the "live" essence and energetic presence from stage into their recordings. Strict 9 has moved many people with their music and through unyielding self-promotion, has developed a strong rooted fan base and have branched out to San Francisco, Santa Barbara-Ventura, Las Vegas, and San Diego in recent years giving the same intensity for 10 or 1000 fans.
