String Drum

String Drum is comprised of Saskatoon musicians Neil Roston and Brett Williams. Roston is a singer/songwriter/guitar player whose music is heavily influenced from the Blues along with smatterings of Folk and Adult Contemporary sounds. Brett Williams is one Saskatoons busiest and most hired drummers. A native of Calgary, Williams moved to Saskatoon in 2008 and soon became a sought after drummer for various bands.
String Drum was formed in 2011 when the two musicians decided to team up and compete in a Saskatchewan duo competition called The Duo (www.theduo.ca). Here, they competed against other Saskatchewan musicians each week for 5 weeks for a chance at a cash prize and recording package. They found success in season 3 finishing third out of 26 duos.
