By: Dr. Matt Warnock

An accomplished guitarist, teacher and recording artist, Matt Coffman brings his unique approach to the instrument to the world through his website, String Love Guitar. The site offers readers many in-depth articles on developing one’s ability on the guitar, as well as ways to improve one’s practicing and mental relationship to the instrument.

Not satisfied to just be a successful teacher and blogger, Matt has also released an album of original material, Spirited, that has been getting a strong response from fans across the board. With these accomplishments already in the bag, Matt is looking into the future as he begins work on his next recording project and continues to build String Love Guitar. - Guitar International Magazine

One of our favorite things to do around Guitar International headquarters is read other guitar websites. We’re always on the lookout for new sites to check out. Sites that will catch our attention with their quality content, engaging writing and interesting approach to everything guitar. Bio

Since starting to play the guitar at age 16, Matt Coffman has pursued his own distinct voice as a musician and songwriter.

After studying literature and philosophy at Stanford University, Matt harnessed his natural gift for language and his increasing command of the guitar to begin giving expression to the insights he received through his spiritual explorations. Meditation, yoga, fasting, study and the guitar all blended into a way of life that eventually led him to surrender completely to the guitar as his instrument and purpose.

Matt's music is all about the joy--harnessing the spirit of jubilance and celebration to shake off the traumas of the past and open up into the possibilities of the present and future.

Major influences include Bela Fleck, Chet Atkins, Doc Watson, Paco de Lucia, Zakir Hussain, Tony Rice, Caetano Veloso, Joao Gilberto and Radiohead.
