"Stringtown Pickers - Self-Titled CD"

From the very first blazin track of the Stringtown Picker’s self titled CD - you will be entranced in a blaze of fiery bluegrass acoustic music! The Stringtown Pickers are Casey Keiner on mandolin, fiddle, and vocals, Chris Keiner on flat-pick guitar and vocals, Scott Nelson on bass fiddle and vocals, Dave Frye on banjo and vocals, and Dave Bigley on guitar and vocals. OH MY GARSH - they pick and pick and pick and you will be amazed at their speed and dexterity of digits to produce great acoustic and bluegrass! Not only that the harmonies are very pleasing and on the money! Influences of Bluegrass, Rock N Roll and Acoustic music blended together to make a solid project! Anyone who doesn't like bluegrass might give that opinion a second thought after a listen to this group!
It’s just simply amazin' and fun to listen to this rock solid group. Songs featured on the project are:

1) Nightfall (HOT! DANG!)
2) Make me a Pallet on Your Floor
3) Euphoria
4) Little Igor (FUN)
5) Harvest Moon
6) Ballad of John Peter (Bwahhh!)
7) Corner Man
8) My Old Home Town
9) Can't Find My Way Home
10) Brown Eyes (My favorite)
11) Evening Rain
12) Midnight Moonlight
13) White Freightliner Blues
14) Here I Am (Great Intro)

Fourteen jam-worthy & fun songs - played by a bunch of talented fellas from Indiana! Hmmm that sounds familiar! The next big thang from the Hoosier State? Well, we'll see, won't we?

"James Dean Festival 2005"

Stringtown Pickers started and finished my day. At the Entertainment
Tent, the group mixed originals, traditional bluegrass and showed off their heavenly harmony on a couple of gospel numbers. I can't wait to hear their album.

"Impressive!"

Impressive!

Ok, guys, here it is, plain and simple. These guys can play. Having desire isn't enough with all the competition out there, but combining heart, musicianship, and some very well written tunes makes for an exciting listen. I've already said to others, this is a CD for all those who say "I don't like Bluegrass". These guys will convert them. There is a great deal of intensity that comes through. As good as this CD is, it still doesn't give credit to how well these guys perform live. If you get the chance, they are worth driving some miles to see.

"Stringtown Pickers CD review"

This is one of the best Newgrass CD's I have in my collection. I highly recommend, if you get a chance, catch a live show and pick up one of their CD's. While you’re at it stick around and listen to them live. You won't regret it. There's not a bad track on this one.

Bio

Who are the Stringtown Pickers? The Stringtown Pickers are the musical definition of Americana. With a style consisting of several different genres of music including blues, rock, reggae, jazz, and zydeco, Stringtown weaves an acoustical stew of bluegrass, newgrass, and jamgrass topped off with soothing multi part harmonies that are sure to please the most sensitive of critic’s ears. While their high energy jam-based performances have earned them a rabid following, they like to keep their shows light-hearted and are guaranteed to surprise with some of their choices of cover arrangements. When you think you’ve heard it all they come back at you with something from their endless library of custom made originals for a well balanced show that will fit a wide variety of musical tastes.
