On October 16, 1982, the windy city of Chicago gave birth to Castro, now known as Stro"The New Jack". Though he was raised in the City of Compton, this young rapper/producer has grasped the best essence of both cities. This combination has helped to mold a far from average and talented individual.
Stro started the base of his career at Compton College where he studied under Harvey Estrada. From this stepping stone, Stro became known for his off-the-wall productions and catchy, conscious lyrics – "being different" should be his motto because that’s what he is!!!
Stro has worked with such artists and producers as Bamm, Very & OD (Fire Water), A1, Diety, Toussant, Trax Man and Dj Cre 1, just to name a few. Since the release of the "Voice Your’s" album in October 2004, this Gumbo Pot Productions rapper/producer (Stro "The New Jack"), has said to be on his way to changing the music industry.
www.urbansmarts.com, who was one of the first to publicly announce the arrival of the soon-to-be seasoned rapper/producer, also had this to say:

This young man’s outlook on the music industry is that it isn’t speaking the truth, nor is it producing enough young MC’s on the West Coast. As a result, Stro has created Gumbo Pot Productions. This talented young man is focused on achieving specific goals and headed in the right direction– “Keep God First and You Won’t Lose” is his motto and way of life!!!
Gumbo Pot Productions is the name and in the Pot is the recipe!!
