"Top 10 Best Local Songs of 2014 (#6 - Stroy)"

5 February 2015. Fresh produce at Prague's alternative rock scene. Fabulous music video for single "Adam Reborn". It would be a shame to only stay for a nice spectacle and not to listen to the entire album, which kicks off with "Papersong". Song of the riffs, screaming rock art, swinging whip and paper lives. Skořepa, Meier, Antl considered whether this song was selected as the second single. Evil tongues say that it hasn't found an audience among the Czech Republic listeners, because its too complex. What do you do? Do you agree with domestic criticism? -

"Stroy: "Oslo, shake it!""

16 May 2015. Stroy was set to compete in a global live music competition, GBOB, and before/during the day of the concert, he loses his voice to bronchitis. Inspite of the challenge, Stroy garners 3rd place among 16 other finalists from all over the world. -

"Stroy : "We have to go beyond""

2 December 2014. People are talking about them as the hot discovery of this year. Although having only just released their debut album, they themselves make no secret big ambitions. "What we do has to assert itself outside, to the world" says Michal Skořepa and Miloš Meier, two-thirds of the assembly STROY. Their debut album, "Adam Reborn" launches tomorrow 3 December at the Hard Rock Café. -

"Alternative Nation’s Modern Artists Showcase: Stroy"

February 2014. Stroy, a hard rock band from the Czech Republic, have created a perfect blend of discord and captivating grooves on their recent debut LP. Songs like “Down the Mountain” and “Forcing the Earth” are built upon a 90’s metal sounding foundation, yet still possess the tense vocal deliveries that are present in modern rock and grunge groups. Michal Skořepa, the lead singer and guitarist of the band, even wrote a song titled “Thank You, Eddie,” which expresses Eddie Vedder’s ability to connect to others. Listen carefully to their songs and you might be able to hear a variety of influences from the spontaneity of 90’s metal to even some more technically progressive rock characteristics. - Alternative Nation

"Stroy, Post Grunge Band"

19 March 2013. Stroy was formed from ruins of Prague crossover band "The Fuse": Miloš Meier from Drumming Syndrome and René Rýpar, one of the most famous guitarist in Czech Republic. After a year of searching for a talented singer, they came across Michal Skorepa and laid the foundations of Stroy. Amazing performance of an unknown but very promising band. I interviewed drummer Miloš Meier and singer Michal Skorepa. - Spark Rock Magazine

"Jesus Christ Superstar a Mix of Old and New Faces"

"If you ask me who the completely new face is, Michal Skořepa - a student at the conservatory who is believed to be the great discovery . As with the demands of the principal roles regarding singing, we have to wait until the autumn, to see if he will visually fit into roles, although he looks very young." -

"Stroy on a Norwegian Mission!"

Stroy will compete this weekend at the international competition, The Global Battle of the Bands, World Final, in Oslo, Norway. -

STROY are a band from Czech Republic. Michal Skorepa is a jazz/classical pianist at the Prague Conservatory; he also played the role of Jesus and Judas in Czech version of Jesus Christ Superstar. Milos Meier became the youngest ever to be named "Drummer of the Year" in the country, working with several of music icons, with projects ranging from jazz, orchestras, metal, drum clinics. Jakub Antl is a jazz/classic double-bass player. Because of his musical versatility and brilliant technique learned from his teenage years playing bass in rock bands, he fitted the band perfectly.

Stroy is a band based on artistic freedom. The metal, high technical quality and energy in Miloš's drumming, combined with Michal's dirty 90's grunge guitar sound and expressive singing, partly influenced by modern classical and jazz harmonies from Jakub's background, became the sound of the band.

Stroy released their debut "Adam Reborn" in late 2014. The single "Adam Reborn" was nominated #6 of the Top 10 local songs of 2014 by the biggest culture webzine in Czech Republic. The lyrics of the songs were mostly about the resurrection of mankind's forgotten instinct and returning to its nature. The music video of Adam Reborn rose to the top of various music programs and publications in Czech Republic.

In 2015, Stroy won the National Competition of The Global Battle of the Bands in Czech Republic. During the same year, they traveled to LA to record with producer Alain Johannes (Eleven, Arctic Monkeys, Chris Cornell, Queens of the Stone Age).
