"Review"

"Not since Bob Dylan burst through has Minnesota produced such a confident and creative songwriter."
- Minneapolis Star Tribune

"Review"

"Davis may be the best songwriter you've never heard of." - Des Moines Register

"Quote"

"We were blown away by Stuart's pure genius. We booked him on the show, calls start coming in. Who was that? Who was that you had on the World Cafe?" -Bruce Warren, World Cafe - World Cafe Syndicated Radio Show

"Review"

"Razor-sharp improv and a ragbag of quite beautiful songs. Lurking in the minutia of his observations on life and the Universe are some startling insights. Davis pulls off that most elusive of party tricks; Even the Gods were smiling." - The Irish Times (Dublin, Ireland)

"Quote"

"A rare genius." - Ken Wilber

Bio

Ten things to know about Stuart Davis
1, The single Already Free from his new album Something Simple is featured in Paramount Picture’s movie Drill Bit Taylor, starring
Owen Wilson. The film opens in 3,000 theaters March 21, and uses a full 2:30 of Stu’s song to wrap up the movie. Drill Bit Taylor
opens in 22 countries in 2008.

2, Before his national distribution deal with Ryko, Stu sold over 60,000 CDs from his shows and web site.

3, Sex, God, & Rock ‘n Roll -Stuart’s first book- is being published by Shambhala and distributed by Random House in 2008. It is
a memoir of Stuart’s crazy life in spirituality and music. The book was edited by Ken Wilber, a fellow Coloradoan and one of the
World’s greatest philosophers (the two are pals).

4, The Stuart Davis Show (television series) is written and directed by Stuart. This surreal half hour comedy features Stuart playing
himself and two clones of his self (one good, one bad). The three Stuarts are in a band together, and they do not get along. Shot
in high def, the first 12 episodes of this series begin airing in April. Each episode incudes a full length music video from Stuart’s
new album. Steve Brill (Mighty Ducks, Little Nicky, Mr Deeds, Without A Paddle, Drill Bit Taylor) is executive producer of The Stuart
Davis Show.

5, Stuart created his own language, called IS. It contains thousands of words, has its own script and syntax, and is the focus of
Stuart’s paintings. Davis paints using a form of micro-calligraphy in which the language is encrypted into the subject of the paint-
ing (most often crows).

7, Stuart has been practicing Zen in the Soto lineage since 1995.

8, Davis has performed over 1,000 shows in the U.S. and Europe over the last decade. He drives like a Grandma. It keeps him
safe.

9, Grammy winning producer John Shanks played guitars on Stu’s new CD. Other special guests included legendary producer
Brendan O’Brien, Live’s front man Ed Kowalczyk, Wendy Melvoin formerly of Prince’s Revolution, and Dave Levita (Alannis Mor-
isette’s guitarist of Jagged Little Pill fame).

10, Stuart’s musical influences include The Police, Peter Gabriel, and Tori Amos
