Stuart Orchard and the Banned Fruit

Stuart Orchard is a singer/songwriter true to the spirit of Australian larrikin-poet-rock’n’roll. His songs take you through diverse emotional colours and social situations, backed up by hard edge guitar riffs or floating finger picking. Stu has been involved in many outfits in his travels around Australia and involves many others in performances such as rappers, singers, beatboxing, percussion, keys, bass, drums...

Stuart has a keen interest in art music and composes music for film.

2003: Stuart begins gigging in Melbourne and records his debut EP ‘Delinquent’.

2004: He is invited to Brisbane to gig and record. The independent promoter Darren P Vowles of the club “Vangogh’s Earlobe” passed his CD onto Eddie Vedder whilst escorting Pearl Jam around town. Eddie called the demo a ‘great piece of Australiana’.

2005: Stu records his second EP “Beautiful Bastard” fronting the band ORCHARD in Melbourne.

2006: He returns to his hometown of Perth to focus on recording a debut album and performs regularly - solo and with new outfit 'the Banned Fruit'.
