The best kept secret in music
Press
In one sizzling summer, the guys from Studio K climbed the stages of Orlando’s most popular venues and pubs. The band is presently working on their debut EP. This year they are going to kick it up a notch. “We have some surprises in store for our fans,” said vocalist/keyboardist Mike Fargnoli. “We will debut some new songs, new arrangements, and a reinvention of ourselves.”
In 2005, Fargnoli, Jack Bender (bass and vocals), Kyle Bodshaug (guitar), and Justin Stone (drums) made their debut on WPRK 91.5 FM. They performed a 50-minute set live in the station’s studio. After years of practice and a search for the perfect guitarist, Studio K was complete. Stone, Bender and Fargnoli initiated the band in January 2003 after Fargnoli had released a collection of his own music, titled Sound Waves. The band’s official website (studiokonline.com) tells of their experience with engineer Mark Mason (Bon Jovi, Soul Asylum) at Phat Planet Recording Studios here in Orlando. Their piano-based rock has rolled into venues such as the Haven, Back Booth, The Social, the AKA Lounge, and recently Hard Rock Live.
The EP has not yet been named, but the guys are confident that their new stuff will raise a few brows. They promise an “entirely new sound” for their fans. Keep an eye out for your next chance to catch a performance of Studio K.
