A veteran performer and songwriter, Stu Frederick brings a warmth to the vibe of any concert stage. His uplifting songs about people and redemption of the human spirit combined with his fine guitar playing leave audiences wanting more.

Biography

Stu Frederick

He has performed with Phil Roy, Lucy Kaplansky, Chuck Brodsky, John Flynn, Jenny Avila, Christine Lavin, Colleen McFarland, and many others, on the Philadelphia singer-songwriter circuit. In 1999, he was awarded a Meet the Composer Grant. In the Philadelphia area over the past fifteen years, Stu has performed at the Lansdowne Folk Club, the Cherry Tree, Steelcity, the Doghouse Cafe, The Point, the Mermaid, and others.

During his high school years, Stu also performed at both the Philadelphia Folk Festival and the legendary Main Point. Thanks to four years in the US Coast Guard, he has been heard on stages in St. Johns Newfoundland, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and Kodiak Alaska among other places.

Influences include Jerry Jeff Walker, Pete Seeger, Dave Van Ronk, Tom Rush, Buffy Saint Marie, Richard Thompson, Gordon Lightfoot, and numerous others.

Discography

Stu has always enjoyed playing live and never created a formal studio recording for sale.

HOWEVER, a CD is finally in the works. Tracks on this EPK are demo and home recordings.

Recently, four of Stu's songs were accepted and put into rotation on Chester County Internet Radio.

Concert repertoire includes Stu's songs, plus surprises. That's the best way to put it. He has a way of breaking into songs that you haven't thought about in years, songs that bring a flood of memories with them.
