Biography

Stu has been an avid music lover from birth in the Chicago suburb of Berwyn...BERRRRRWWWWWWYYYNNNNN. He currently resides in Downers Grove, Il

He had tinkered without much sucess at making music on and off since he was sixteen. Recently he has decided to follow the dream and JUST DO IT!!

He played his first public gig in 1996 in the college town of Macomb, Il opening up for the local Blues musician John Healy at the Sullivan Taylor Coffee house. He then played as one of the acts in that years Heritage Festival at the coffee house.
Life then interviened and he got married moved away and has two of the most addorble children. This time the hold on his creative urges lasted 8 years until he turned again to his first love, music. The long absence has flamed his inspirations and led him back to writing and playing.

McCreary's Cabin

Written By: Stu James

Deep in the Backwoods
Out among the swamps
There stands a cabin well
That no one wants
It's got a story
It's sad but true
Lives as a warning
For me and you

The Boogie Man may be a myth in the city
And the Candy man just a lark
But you don't go around McCreary's
After Dark

There were two lovers
So the story goes
And how they got there well
No one knows
But when they found the couple
It was such a site
One joined a convent
The other died of freight

The Boogie Man may be a myth in the city
And the Candy man just a lark
But you don't go around McCreary's
After Dark

You can laugh when you run
through the bone yard baby
And jump there all you want
You can circle 3 times calling bloody murder
Stick your tounge out when you taunt
You can pick up hitch-hikers on Halloween
In a wedding dress, or the beauty queen
But don't you go drivin' your car
Down in that swamp, long after dark

Now that was way back
Years and years ago
If you don't believe me man
Tell you where to go
There's a little lady
Sister Mary june
She'll give you a story
From her point of view
She'll say

You can laugh when you run
through the bone yard baby
And jump there all you want
You can circle 3 times calling bloody murder
Stick your tounge out when you taunt
You can pick up hitch-hikers on Halloween
In a wedding dress, or the beauty queen
But don't you go drivin' your car
Down in that swamp, long after dark

You don't go around McCreary's after Dark
You don't go around McCreary's after Dark
You don't go around McCreary's after Dark

Summer Wind

Written By: Stu James

Summer wind blowin' on through the trees
It takes me back, puts my mind at ease
And gets me lost, in thoughts of younger days
Sittin' here out on my balcony
Thinkin' how, it used to be
Living life, in all the simple ways

Oh,Summer wind you used to be my friend
Summer wind call me back again
Summer wind you used to be my friend
Oh, summer wind I need you once again

With no bills to pay, just time to roam
Exploring life, back at home
The kings of all, what we could see
You could be a spaceman , with a rocket ship
Finding worlds, was our trip
And never once, leaving our back yard

Playing Cops and Robbers, in our local park
Ghost in the graveyard with the street lights after dark
Parents on the stoop
Keeping the boogie Man at Bay

Summer wind blowin' on through the trees
It takes me back, puts my mind at ease
And gets me lost, in thoughts of younger days
Sittin' here out on my balcony
Thinkin' how, it used to be
Living life, in all the simple ways

Midnight Serenade

Written By: Stu James

Passed and old cantina
Down on Salinas Ave.
Where the sailors all wet their whistle
And the fun that they have
Just around the corner there's
A house of blue light
The girls are hanging out the window
Their dresses are so tight

One more midnight summer serenade
Another way to pass the day
One more midnight summer serenade
Another way to pass the day

Just hanging out with the boys
Cruzing up and down the strip
Looking for those girls in that Mustang
Man that was such a trip
Staying out late 'til the morning light
Watch the sun come up over the hill
Fooling around in the back seat
Fumbling and clumsy but what a thrill

One more midnight summer serenade
Another way to pass the day
One more midnight summer serenade
Another way to pass the day

We were just young and foolish
Trying to explore what the world was about
Living our lives on our heartstrings
Not a care in the world not ever a doubt
One more midnight summer serenade
Another way to pass the day
