STUMBLEWEED
Although Stumbleweed is a relatively new addition to the Canadian music scene, the band’s veteran members are no strangers to entertaining audiences, fuelling dance floors, and touring the country throughout the last two decades. Formed in Hamilton Ontario in 2008, and drawing musical talent from the surrounding area, Stumbleweed has been quick to gain the attention of music enthusiasts with their tasteful flavour of alternative country music.
When members of four popular Southern Ontario bands came together to compose and perform music, it didn’t take long to realize that there was chemistry within personalities and musical approach. The group’s sound is a product of well-crafted original country music that is influenced by other musical genres including roots rock, folk and blues. The band continues to produce a tight sound that features three-part vocal harmonies accompanied by a memorable electric “twang” and solid rhythm section.
As a result of successful performances in Southern Ontario clubs and music festivals, the band was swift to enter Hamilton’s Westmoreland Recording to record their debut release “Seven Favourites” (2010) which also contains a holiday bonus track “Christmas Drinker” that was released to the CBC Music Library in December 2009. Currently, Stumbleweed is working on their second studio release while continuing with live performances in the year ahead.
