WINNERS OF ‘ROCK RECORDING OF THE YEAR’ AT THE SCOTTISH NEW MUSIC AWARDS 2011
A relatively new act formed in Glasgow in July 2009, long time friends previously working in different bands come together to create Stuntman Mike, an explosive live act led by the charismatic and powerful voice of Scott Hetherington. March 2010, and a debut single release sends the Stuntmen around the UK on tour, followed by a second tour in September 2010. Stuntman Mike have already headlined many of the UK’s most respected venues including King Tut’s & Cathouse (Glasgow), The Dublin Castle (Camden, London), and the Hope & Anchor (Islington, London) to the notable appreciation of attendees, as well as earning notable support slots with established acts such as The Damned Things, The Virgin Marys, and Gun.
The band’s exploits have been further supported by extensive airplay on local and national radio stations such as Clyde 1, Forth 1, Tay FM, Moray Firth FM, Northsound 1, Rock Radio, and Amazing Radio (Single of the Week).
Stuntman Mike have quickly gained an army of dedicated fans (The Stuntanians!) and are proud to include the likes of Scotland’s eminent ambassador for new music Jim Gellatly, rock legend Tom Russell (Real XS), and respected music manager Dee Bahl (Biffy Clyro) amongst them.
