"Echo Within 2008 demo CD/Record - Stutrol"

“Echo Within, a great ear perking debut demo from Stutrol, its is very apparent that this guys likes to play his guitar and almost all the album shows this. I for one am not a great listener of ‘show off guitar slingers’ and what are referred to as ‘Shred Heads’ but Stutrol manages to even it all out with his Vocal which makes the melodic guitar work fit just nicely into the tune giving the listener some thing else to appreciate. I am anticipated to hear Stutrol’s reworking of the album” - Jennifer White - Jennifer White 'Manchester Music'

"Review for 'Back Again' - Track 4 (ReWORK) (Apr 11, 2010)"

"Back again" has an Eastern flavor due to the instrumentation, and an 'Island' feel with a melody that slides along happily. There is a rich phaser sound that dominates but in fact the mix is multilayered and stuffed with action from the grungy bass guitars to the adventurous leads. This is almost too packed to appreciate on the first listen. Full marks to the vocalist for presenting a distinctive, original style, slightly affected and exaggerated but successfully so. And well done for the inclusion of an ear-catching chorus chanting "I don't know why" and adding a light touch to balance the piece. Plenty of work went into the writing and production, the only slight niggle a listener might have would be the regular drum strikes but overall "Back again" is an interesting, slightly Psychedelic musical experience. - The Scrutinears

"Review for 'Your own Affairs' - Track 1 (ReWORK) (Apr 11, 2010)"

"Nothing could prepare the listener for the frantic intro to "Your own affairs" The first thought is that this is being played at the wrong speed - a mass and tangle of rapid, fuzzy guitar sounds, really crazy, what is this? .... but then after the initial shock the song settles in with a fresh, funky back beat. The vocalist has an interesting style, characterful, sassy, a little Prince-like. Although the lyrics are not challenging melodically, and are a little hard to take in on first listen, they do fit well and are smooth and integrated as is the subtle backing chorus. It's a well thought out song needing a serious listen. This is a very busy track with guitars on overtime, stirring up the action, pushing the progression forward so that it's hard to believe this is over 5 mins long. Although the heavy guitar presence makes this a Rock song, there is a good crossover of different genres giving the song a wide appeal for today's market. " - The Scrutinears

"stutrols debut guitar/vocal album 2009 ReWORK"

Stutrols raw debut album is littered with many a great track! He have a very unique and pretty style. “Your Own Affairs” has a very beautiful melody with insightful lyrics. "Back Again" is relaxed, comfort with vitality. Stutrol a wonderful artist with much talent and has a passionate and brilliant performance, especially his much melodic and outstanding guitar work!!
The music has a great quality considering it is completely a one man effort and has been produced on a extremely tight budget within a home pc studio without endless hours of time to spend in it - I like it very much!
A fine guitar/ singer/ songwriter/ and in his own rights a competant producer with the limited production/recording equipment used.
'King Times' is a straight ahead pop rock song with decisiveness and motivation! Nice!
'by your side' with this I like the combination of melancholy, hope and romance in this song!
'nobody told you' has a Pretty intro, nice lyrics. I like this melancholy of this song! All in all the material presents a whole range of influences and fusioned styles of pop, rock, blues/ jazzy notes which just seems to meld into a sound that says 'StuTrol'.
This isnt quite a record for the top 40 bedroom bobber, neither the army of Nightclub pavement dwellers, but for someone with some musical sensibilty who is looking for something different, exciting yet somewhat easy on the ears.
After all said....go and listen for Yourself!!!

Bio

Stutrol is a guitar/vocal songwriter musician performer residing in the Northwest of England. Stu began his interest in music by learning the guitar at a relatively late age of 17 but never really took it to a wider audience until he began playing bars & clubs as a solo guitar/vocalist over the country in 2006. Recently Stu has published a completely self produced 10 track home produced album. This album is essentially a Rebirth of many a track featured as demos from the LoFi 2008 'demo' album 'Echo Within' along with a few newly coughed up tunes. I certainly hope you all find something to enjoy or snear at within these churnings of Guitar fuelled PopRock Explorations with a few quieter moments to hold your fingers back of the button!

Completely self produced, performed and engineered material , written and arranged music of a rock nature but with a individual Pop sensibility which listeners have described as “Unique guitar fuelled Catchy Pop/Rock” with a intent to distribute and put in the hands of promising publishing, potential Management and representation.
