They crank out riff driven rock with a soulful feel. I would more liken them to Steppenwolf and Foghat more... - Wordpress
We listen to music to feel something, to relate to something or to just plain have fun. And it’s becoming harder and harder to find a local band that you can listen to and just plain enjoy yourself. No corporate puppetry or influence laced through what could be and should be killer music. That’s why when we came across Subatomic it was something extremely refreshing. Their jam-oriented sound with catchy riffs and groovy basslines is just plain good music. Bio
Subatomic. was formed in 2006 by three longtime friends/musical brothers. To say the influences are all over the map would be an understatement: blues, metal, classic riff/jam rock, and even acid-groove-jazz. While influences and song styles may vary greatly, making the music hard to label, there are a few things that remain constant - the sound is huge, the music is powerful and honest, and whether or not you have a shred of rhythm, your head will bump and nod with the grooves. The new album is amazing and getting great reviews (Kurt Baron from 94.1 WJJO in Madison, WI calls the album "Unbelievably good"), but live is where subatomic. really thrives. Pounding out such a massive sound, you would swear there were more than just three guys in this band. We have opened for National/Major Label bands including CLUTCH, DANKO JONES, and SEASONS AFTER as well as many regional acts.
***Played at Summerfest 2010 on The Harley Davidson Roadhouse Stage!!***
We have also been a featured artist on 94.1 WJJO in Madison. Our song "Pull Me Under" has been nominated for 2010 SONG OF THE YEAR at The Madison Area Music Awards.
