New Blackboard Jungle dubstep 12" feat. Lee Scratch Perry & Jahdan drops July '09.

Founded at the turn of the millennium, NYC’s Subatomic Sound System has built a reputation worldwide for explosive shows, innovative production, and breaking down barriers with their unique adaptation of 1970’s Jamaican sound system culture and dub reggae studio techniques to current music genres, technology, and live performances.

With a stack of releases on 6 different labels in 2008, touring worldwide as DJ, live electronic act, or live band, sold out vinyl collaboration with reggae legend and dub innovator Lee Scratch Perry and Vienna's Dubblestandart, Subatomic Sound System started 2009 ready to shine on their upcoming album and on stage.

Subatomic is an all star NYC cast including Jahdan Blakkamoore (Dutty Artz/Gold Dust) of Noble Society (winner of iTunes reggae album of the year) and memeber of Diplo & Switch's Major Lazer project. Also, we have Daddy Lion Chandell (member of the legendary Meditations vocal trio).

Last full length album 'On All Frequencies' (on Modus Vivendi Music/ Nomadic Wax) hits the CMJ top 40, in BOTH the RPM & World charts

Set List

Subatomic Sound System forms like Voltron: a live set can involve between 2 to 9 people. The performance can be as short as a half an hour or as long as the whole night. Subatomic can perform in a DJ configuration or on stage in a live band formation.

Typically a tight 40-60 minute live set reflects the latest material and artists from the album 'On All Frequencies': electronics, live bass and percussion, and one to five singers will perform several tracks with each singer or several singers in combination, stylistically covering dubstep, dub reggae, dancehall, hip hop, drum & bass, downtempo and broken beat.

Alternatively, a live set can focus on a specific genre and involve as few as two people, running electronics and vocals only - in the typical Jamaican soundsystem style - doing a full dub reggae set, a hip hop oriented set, a downtempo set, or an aggressive drum and bass set.

A third option is that Subatomic Sound System can steady rock an entire night's party, up to
