Submission Red – EP
From Florida arrive new kicks ass modern rock band Submission Red (great name) with their killer new five track EP produced by Benjamin Judah Kasica from the band SKILLET. The band are Dave Nordstrom – Drums, Rick Odem – Bass, David Whifrey – Guitars and Yvonne Winfrey on vocals. Yvonne has a killer vocal range and I find it hard to admit that the band are unsigned given the popularity of the likes od Damone, Crucifed Barbara and Paramore. In fact they are quite like Paramore and Suzi Rawn and I love this EP.
‘Loud Cloud’ kicks off, and this is a catchy fun rocker with a superb catchy chours, the song and band should be all over MTV and the radio with this song, it fuses hard rock with modern rock and is superb. Next is ‘Nobody’ this is quite melodic with many interesting ideas playing through, quite electronic in structure as well. The chorus is superb and makes me think of Skillet and Butch Walker. ‘Drive On’ is my favourite song, this is wonderous, the arrangements are superb and Yvonne’s vocals are amazing, very sexy moody and lush, this should by rights be a huge massive hit.
‘Signal The Smoke’ is melodic and dynamic in structure with a slight retro vibe, again Yvonne’s vocals are solid, she nail’s this song and her voice is stunning as is her band. ‘Dirty Scene’ is a heavier upbeat catch song, again melodic but slightly grittier showing the band have a solid raw edge.

We love what we hear so far!!! "Loud Cloud" is just an instant classic
and ready for radio now. And "Drive On" is a cross over hit waiting to
happen. I think getting submissionRED on a tour with someone like Buckcherry,Papa Roach or Hinder would be a good thing. SR looks like they're ready to step up! Seriously, even their harder songs like Dirty Scene have big potential.

Submission Red's sophomore album "Untamed Ones" had a buzz going as soon as the band met in Los Angeles to record it. And in the first week their first single "24 (I Want More of You)" was released to radio, it was the 9th most downloaded song to Christian radio stations!
If their first album "Vision Tour" had 5 singles released to radio --3 of which charted, imagine what "Untamed Ones" is going to do with the backing of Dream Records/EMI and better, well-written more radio friendly songs!
