Biography

HOW ARE WE GENERATING BUZZ?

2. A track from their new album got picked to be the music in the current Gibson Guitar Co. television ad campaign for their "Austin GuitarTown" promotion to run now through SXSW, based solely on the producers thinking it was cool.

INFO:

Subrosa Union is now best known as an opening act for nationally touring acts like Slightly Stoopid, Pepper, and the MTV Caffeine Tour with Carmen Electra.

Subrosa Union’s debut album, “Looking Forward,” released by Austin indie label Fugamundi Records, sounds like cooking three sonic ingredients into one satisfying dish—Rock, Reggae, and Hip Hop.

Subrosa Union is currently touring the nation to a wide variety of audiences beyond hot-box college shows. Latin-influenced rhythms and surprising transitions make Subrosa’s album and performances riveting.

Their music is wholly original, but listen for hints of influences as diverse as Carlos Santana, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Subrosa Union has played venues like the Knitting Factory in Hollywood and Stubb’s Amphitheater in Austin with bands like Long Beach Short Bus, Authority Zero, and reggae visionaries Third World.

Subrosa Union is a trio featuring Michael Anaya – vocals and guitar; Chris Paulos – bass and MC; and Paul Valenzuela – drums. The band is originally from El Paso, TX and is now based in Austin. www.subrosaunion.com

Lyrics

Find Our Way Home

Written By: M. Anaya

One day we'll find
All the keys to what's in life
Door is open, still I hide
Support these dreams
Support my mind
Am I guilty?
Do you see through me?
Am I empty?
Can you forgive me?

One day we'll find our way home
Walking slowly down the road
We're born young and we'll die old
One day we'll find our way home

Like you I cry
Behind walls when loved ones die
Time it passes still I try
Support these dreams
Support my mind

Castaway

Written By: R. Rushing

Castaway cross a wine dark sea
So far from land, so close to me
Stay close to me

We’ve seen not a soul for days
Sightless hands of wind
Carry us away, blowing us away

Now it’s dark and the stars
Are stepping out for you
They’re dancing step and time
And they rhyme, all for you

Fishes down below us
Playing fishous games
You hear the gulls calling
But they’re miles away

Call me Ishmael
You play Captain Kidd
We’ll bury diamond treasure
Deep under sand, in a far away land

Save Me

Written By: M. Anaya

If I ever needed help with anything
You’d assist me with my strife
Let me do the same to you and give respect
To the one who treats me right

//CHORUS
I think sometimes I be lost if I didn’t have your love
What I need to do is let you know you save me when I’m down

No request of yours I could ever deny
Just tell me what you want
The test of time has proved we got nothing to lose
So I’ll give it all I’ve got

Open my eyes my day starts with you
Feel the sunshine as it’s coming through
I don’t want leave you want me to stay
Lets hold each other all day
We fall asleep my day ends with you
I’m starting to dream, Is it coming true?
You accept me I just wanna say
Lets love each other always
Yeah!
