DAT BIZNESS, the name speaks for itself. Raised on the South Eastside of Chicago in the Germano Millgate apartments he has expressed an undying passion for his "hood". Music has always "boiled" in his blood; he started playing the saxaphone at the age of 11. After conquering the the intuitive stages of instrumentation,he began blessing the microphone at the age of 13,and not long after that he polished rhymes, delivery, and razorsharp punchlines and became a monster lyrically at 21, and now you have Dat Bizness. His witty flow and real life content has earned him the accolade of being "lyrically street". He has been featured on several mix tapes ranging from premiere Mid-West Dj's like Shadyville's Dj Sean Mac to Dj Pogo.
Dat Bizness exploded on the Chicago hip hop scene with a big time performance at the 2007 Chicago's Puerto Rican Day Parade in Humbolt Park, which featured major acts like Atlantic recording star, Twista, Former Koch Records acts Legit Ballers and a host of other talented acts. His influence has spreaded throughot the Midwest circuit. Cities like Milwaukee, Cleveland, Peoria, and Indiana have all felt hs street philosophical jargon and rich flow rhetoric.

ILL GORDON, best known for his rough delivery and clever metaphors, he has taken pride in lyrical prowess and always expressed creativity over gimmicks. Born and raised on the southside of Chicago, ILL was musically inclined since the age of 3 when he commenced to play the drums. Labled as a late bloomer amongst his peers, ILL didnt start to focus on rap until the age of 18. Out of the trenches, he became known for his fierce raps and keen punchlines. ILL took these same tough intangibles to Nashville, TN a few months later.
He displayed his lyrical skills at local college parties and various college radio stations, gaining him a grassroot buzz and following. His skills also caught the attention of other local prominent emcees and they went on to form the group "Starving Artistz". While with S.A., ILL put out three mixtapes: Starving Artist Mixtape Vol.1, S.A. Mixtape Vol 2 and Dj Whitey presents Starving Artist: Still Hungry Mixtape. Throughout his continued grind to build a significant buzz in the notorious crunk filled city of Nashville he continued to battle any and every challenger that dare oppose his lyrical supremacy on the microphone. After countless victims, Nashville circuitry of Dj's took notice to ILL's verbal swagger and aggressive verbiage and began to reachout for verses on various mixtapes. After gaining a respectable fan base in Nashville, ILL packed up and bought a ticket back to the "City of Wind" better known as Chi City. Since Moving back to his hometown ILL has gain a tremendous fan base with the hip hop communities throughout the midwest regions.
In 2006, ILL GORDON and DAT BIZNESS rigorously worked on music together and couldnt neglect the undeniable chemistry they shared. The more songs they completed together the more their chemistry became stronger and noticeable to anyone who heard their material. After so many features on each others projects the level on inevitability to make this an official hip hop duo was undeniable. In 2008 they made the union official and became SUBSTANCE.
