Bio

SUBTLE BODIES by Jeremy Podgursky is soothing, ambient, heartfelt music for the sake of relaxation and meditation. This was accomplished using real acoustic instruments played by real performers. The sounds of strings, piano, and percussion on this recording are meant to soothe the listener, not over-stimulate. Jeremy's experiences with classical composition and rock and roll allowed for him to compose, record, perform, and edit the whole project himself on Pro Tools. The finished product is much more than a “massage CD”; it is blissful relaxation presented as musical art, not as New Age commerce.

Jeremy is a graduate of University of Louisville’s esteemed music composition program. Under the tutelage of composers such as Dr. Steve Rouse and Dr. Marc Satterwhite, he won many awards and graduated with high honors. And in 1999, Jeremy attended the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo, Japan as the private guest of Grammy Award-winning composer Tan Dun (CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON and HERO soundtracks). Jeremy's concert music has received praise in the USA and Europe for its imagination and other-worldliness.

During his tenure in music school, Jeremy started the critically acclaimed psychedelic rock band THE PENNIES (www.thepennies.com) with fellow music students at the university. THE PENNIES toured the US and part of Europe, recorded multiple releases on CD and vinyl, the last of which will be released in mid-2005 on Ear X-Tacy Records.

SUBTLE BODIES was released in a partnership with the Louisville School of Massage on their new label Sounds at the Stillpoint. The label’s goal is to provide quality music with holistic purposes by talented composers. The Louisville School of Massage and Stillpoint Wellness Center are the heart and soul of Louisville’s burgeoning Holistic movement.
