"Club Owners and Festival Promoters Quotes"

"Sue Da Baco is a blistering lead guitar playing "Blues" woman! Influenced by Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, & Bonnie Raitt just to name a few...She will melt your face off and deliver the blues Da Baco style. Backed up by Scott Walters on bass & Darrel Douglas on Drums you won't believe this is a trio. If you like the blues rockin' style, come see her show!!" --Michelle (Owner, proprietor, Mustang Shelly's Roadhouse)

"Thank you Sue DaBaco and Wise Fools for playing our fundraiser (Henry J. Townsend Memorial Show).....although I had never seen you in person, I liked what I read and had a feeling (got to watch out for us IL girls!)..........I was right! You are unbelievable performers and you play as a unit, not as 3 band members, energy like I have not seen in a while....I just can't say enough good things about you and you'll definitely be invited to another Grafton Blues Association event!"
Kris Marshall - President, Graftom Blues Association

"With all the other fun that was had you were the highlight of my weekend at the Sister Bay Fall Festival. You are the best I have heard in a long time. Please come back." Dave - Fans, Inc.

Bio

Sue DaBaco and Wise Fools is a high energy, power trio that transports its audiences on a trip down a new road of musical experience. Their unique blend of progressive rock and blues intermingles with other unexpected styles that are deftly morphed into place with DaBaco’s steady hand. DaBaco writes all the songs and uses her alternating raw and sensual vocals to express an intensity that reaches out and grabs the crowd. Her “voice” also speaks clearly through her blistering riffs and edgy solos grounded in her empathic understanding of Hendrix’ spirit.

With her musical roots formerly planted in Chicago, DaBaco has since burst out of the Midwest to the West Coast and across the ocean to gigs in Prague and Lithuania. Her performances with her alter-ego band in Lithuania, with whom she’s performed twice and recorded, is testament to her ability to communicate through music as they, too, wowed the audience in spite of her not speaking a word of their language.

DaBaco and her band play weekly at regional clubs whose audiences find themselves immediately hooked on her unique musical experience that fully engages the audience. What else can they do when DaBaco strides off stage and wails on her guitar only inches away from them!?! When warmer weather hits, SD&WF performs at numerous festivals, including Summerfest, Powerbox Fest (Seattle), Waukesha County Fair, Paramount Blues Festival, River Rhythms, Great River Days (2009), and Waukesha Blues Fest.

Sue DaBaco and Wise Fools got the kudos they deserved when they won the 2008 Grafton Blues Challenge, resulting in their participation in the Memphis International Blues Challenge in May, 2009. Out of 180 bands, they were honored with the title I.B.C. Club Favorite.

DaBaco has brought together a group that is transforming music and performance with two dynamic players who form a strong base for this trio. Bass player Scott Walters underscores DaBaco’s riveting guitar riffs as his hands pound out the Fools sound. And drummer Daryl Douglas brings a beat that both grounds and propels the Wise Fools energy.

Sue DaBaco and Wise Fools’ 2007 CD, Voodoo Juice, captures the intensity of their music through 10 originals and one cover: Voodoo Chile, of course, done in the Fools way that would even make Jimmy proud. They are currently working on another CD expected out within the next year with new music from their prolific storehouse.
