No Star Motel
Written by Larry Wade

They say I can’t
sing a song.
I’m bound and determined
to prove them people wrong.

The day’s been long,
goin’ from bar to bar.
Tryin’ to show folks,
I am a rising star.

Walked a lot of miles,
all over town today.
Don’t have much money,
to find a place to stay.

Guess I’ll stay at the No Star Motel,
it’s the best place in sight.
No cable, no pool,
but the price is right tonight.

The room’s pretty small,
and the bed’s kinda hard.
At least I didn’t have to use
my credit card.

It’s not quite the Ritz,
but I’ll stay for a spell.
At least I’ve got,
my No Star Motel.

Tomorrow I’ll be back
on the streets again.
Singin’ my songs
and holdin’ up my chin.

Puttin’ out my hat
for quarters on the corner.
Hopin’ to find
the dream I’m lookin’ for

Still stayin’ at the No Star Motel,
it’s the best place in sight.
No cable, no pool,
but the price is right tonight.

The room’s pretty small,
and the bed’s kinda hard.
At least I didn’t have to use
my credit card.

It’s not quite the Ritz,
but I’ll stay for a spell.
At least I’ve got,
my No Star Motel.

Got a singin’ job today
at a little place downtown.
That gave me a smile
and wiped away my frown.

Gonna celebrate tonight,
maybe have an ice cold beer.
Then I’d better head out
to pack up all my gear.

Movin’s goin’ to be easy,
I’m on a streak of luck.
Good thing I’ve been livin’
in my old pickup truck!

Yes, it’s the No Star Motel,
it’s the best place in sight.
No cable, no pool,
but the price is right tonight.

Headin’ out of town
and givin’ a big yell.
Yes that’s me goin’ down the highway
in my No Star Motel.
