I truly enjoyed "Yelling for War," the kind of song folk music was invented for. It reminded me of the old definition
of war: "old men sending young men to fight and die." The lyrics are reminiscent of Dylan in his younger days and
show a deep reflection on how Jeffers views the modern world ....

.... Folk melodies with warm familiarity but still uniquely Sue Jeffers carry lyrics deeply rooted in emotion, experience, and message. Not the take all day to realize the meaning type of message, but ones with which this reviewer immediately related. Then comes the second listen and I realized the dawn of understanding is wider than originally perceived. For newer images unfold as this artist brings her life experiences and beliefs into her music. Her style with guitar are a compliment to the lyrics, but also propel her folk roots with individual style and personal appreciation. ....

Bio

Sue Jeffers is an insurgent folk artist from Kent, OH. Her catalog includes over 60 original songs, ranging from
hardhitting political commentary and social satire to more personal tales of life and love. She was subverted early on by the likes
of Woody and Arlo Guthrie , Buffy Sainte-Marie, Phil Ochs, Joan Baez. Some later influences have been the Indigo Girls, Billy
Bragg and Tracy Chapman.

Sue has performed from the jail cells of Cleveland to the beaches of San Diego and many points in between. She has been
part of workshops at the Kent State Folk Festival, showcased at the Philadelphia Music Conference and the International Folk Alliance Conference. At the annual Kent State May 4th 1970 Commemorations she has shared the stage with Country Joe McDonald and
Robert Lockwood Jr.. Sue is performing member of Indiegrrl, a member of the GoGirls network and the Folk Alliance.

Sue has released 5 projects on her own label, FBI Records. Her latest effort, "Welcome Home" will be released in July 2003. Her music is also included on the Indiegrrl Vol. I & III Compilation CD's, Ground Zero - a compilation from Musician's For Peace, and "Stoking the Fires of Resistance" - a benefit cd for Voices in the Wilderness.
