Bio

Suffer The King began as two guys who really didn't know if they wanted to play music anymore. Quentin (bass) and Jeff (Vocals) had both decided that jamming in a band was over for them. They'd both been in other bands and were at a point in their lives where they felt it was time to dedicate themselves and their time to their families. Their families had sacrificed much during the time they were in other bands and now was a time to pay back the favor.

The Problem with that was Quentin had wanted to play Christian metal/rock for a long time and, coincidently, Jeff had been writing Christian lyrics during the four years he'd been out of his old band. Quentin and Jeff discussed jamming for fun while the two were visiting at Q's house (Quentin is married to Jeff's sister, Robin). They had decided that they would get together with Quentin's brother DJ, who playes guitar. DJ was a former band mate of Jeff's and was excited to come and play. That first night produced a sound that was intriguing. So much so, the guys decided to get together again with a drummer and see what happened. A mutual friend, Brandon was asked to come and sit in with the guys and play drums. He agreed and the four came up with a cool groove that was infectious. The reluctant vocalist and bassist decided that they might want to form a band after all.

The four guys began practicing once per week in Jeff's garage - much to the chagrin of the neighbors. It wasn't long before God's word began to flow from their instruments. The music was distinct and absolutely honored and brought praise to the Lord. Wheather the guys wanted to be in a band again or not, God had spoken to their hearts and minds with this music. The Lord wanted them to be in a band to spread His Word. Thus, Suffer The King.

After experimenting with two differant drummers, the final line-up is set with drummer Derek Bottorff and the band is eager to fill its schedule with opportunities to witness for the Lord. Things are happening rapidly as several shows have materialized and more are in the works. All thanks to God.
