Sugar Rum Tantrum tramples as the Los Angeles folk-mischief-rambunction helmed by accordionist-songwriter Melinda West (Sugar Rum). Sugar Rum is a stompfolk accordionist who began her by wrangling catchy-street-performing-sketch-tactics to her advantage. She mixes spicy tangos, barging rhythms, and a constant start-and-stop dynamic frenzy that leaves its happenstance partakers confused but very excited. She tops it off with a cherry on top, sweet contemplative folk melodies and some loud biting blues.
Sugar Rum has performed performed as part of cirque dance-troupe Lucent Dossier has played alongside the likes of Movits, Postmodern Jukebox, David Lindley, David Grisman, Story of the Year, Casey Abrams, Marianne Williamson. Sugar Rum Tantrum has enjoyed their collaborations with Upright Citizen's Brigade, theme parks, and theatrical performers all around, from comedians, to burlesque, to fire dancers. Altogether, she brings one tasty concoction to the stage for all to feast!
