Sugar Blue

Sugar Blue

Sugar Blue was formed in the spring of 2006 to play jazz standards, light latin grooves and modern tunes with a jazzy twist. The trio format is suited to intimate occasions and larger events, both for setting the background mood or providing the main entertainment.

Over the past 12 years Gem “Satin Doll” Murray has sung every style from country to classical. Gem’s rich, warm voice is ideally suited to Sugar Blue’s repertoire.

Classically trained, Mark “Mack the Knife” Knezevic is inspired by the great jazz guitarists such as Wes Montgomery and Django Reinhart. Mark combines subtle accompaniment with soulful soloing.

Adam “Straight, No Chaser” Gittins has played everywhere from the U.K. to Europe and Australia and has backed some of Jazz’s big names. Adam provides the rhythmic foundation to the trio as well as contributing some blistering bass breaks.

We are a live band and gig regularly around Sydney.
