He has produced an album by the beautiful Savana Lee. The album/cd is
called "Redbird" and I highly suggest giving it a listen. Rick Rosas
and Spooner Oldham are also on it.... Crawford and Savana have done an
amazing job with this. The vocals are superb....and Anthony's guitar,
banjo, etc.. are a perfect blend. The cd is even full of Anthony's
photography at Broken Arrow Ranch... My favorite: "The One Before Me"

This is a really interesting piece, the stylistic influences are not so obviously identified as it has an almost modern folk feel. The ease of Savana's voice is what pulled me into really listening to the story the words tell. As I mentioned, some of the phrasing must have taken a while to master but again, with such an elaborate telling of a tale the lengthy lyric form is necessary. I liked how the chorus refrain floats above the subtly frenetic energy of the verse for a really effective release. The instrumentation lays the perfect foundation, and the clean nononsense production supports the feel of the track nicely. Savana - Redbird (Independent)
This album is being played on Neil Young’s current tour to warm up the crowd. Nice. Savana is a singer-songwriter based in Nashville, with a cool line in roots pop songs with plenty of hooks. Guitarist Anthony Crawford is responsible for the tunes, and it isn’t inconceivable that on the right label and with enough push, the pair of them could achieve major success. Bio
Anthony has been sharing the stage with Neil Young since the early 80's. (International Harvestors, Shocking Pinks, Electric Band) In addition to playing with Neil he has also accompanied Steve Winwood, Dwight Yoakam, Blackhawk, Nicolette Larson, Sonny James and others on world tours.
Steve Winwood, The Oak Ridge Boys, Kenny Rogers, Lee Greenwood, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Lorrie Morgan all have recorded songs from his catalog consisting of an astonishing 400+ and counting.
Anthony grew up in Birmingham, Alabama which is something he has in common with his partner, Savana, who was also raised in Alabama along the Gulf Coast.
Their first harmonizing note was like a light bulb turning on in their minds and the search for the perfect singing companion was over for both artists. The tonal blend is something of a mystery to not be blood related and the kinetic energy between the two is heartwarming and enchanting. These two love what they do and it shows every time they play.
Anthony produced REDBIRD, Savana's debut album, back in November of 07 before going out on the Chrome Dreams Continental Tour. After two years of touring Europe, Canada, Australia, and the US Anthony managed to find the time in March of this year to record FIVE IS RED, with My Morning Jacket's Bo Koster and the band, Everest, who's been Neil's opening act for the last couple of years. They've now both decided to put all of their energy into their duo called 'Sugarcane Jane'.
"We really enjoy harmonizing together and believe in what we are doing 100%. To us there is something very endearing and special about it all. We just hope that others recognize it and love it as much as we do."
