Biography

Sugar Pill is the vision of five talented individuals who have come together in their common love of music. Rarely have the stars aligned to bring such a dynamic group of artists together. Sugar Pill has been growing in the hearts of each member since their musical beginnings; they just didn't know it as such. Stubbs and Schaef (Bass n Drums) have been brewing their own batch of throw-down groove ever since they can remember. Waz and Derrick (Guitar, Percussion) have been playing in bands together for years, finally finding the perfect home for their psychotic element in the Sugar Pill family. Rick's unique charisma and stage presence redefine the concept of today's front man. Together, Sugar Pill creates a groove-filled style of music that has equal parts rock, soul, jazz, and R&B. Many fans describe their sound on a higher level; beyond the presence of sound. They mention how the music touched their emotions, how it grabbed their attention, and ultimately, it won their respect. Live, Sugar Pill can be defined in one word: FUN.
They have the ability to make you nod your head, and bust a big grin. Whether it's the uplifting lyrics, the feel-good choruses, or the downright slamming grooves, Sugar Pill will move some part of you.
They wanted to bring all of their influences and teachings to the table. Jazz, funk, classic rock, alternative, folk, and a touch of world beat are fused together to form Sugar Pill's unique music.
Sugar Pill has already played thousands of shows traveling throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Indiana. The band's fusion of 60's psychedelic blues-rock, 70's soul, and 90's attitude has formed what they like to describe as Groove Rock, Sugar Pill style.
Whether it is in the heart, mind, or soul, Sugar Pill's injection of powerful vocals and tight grooves make people get up, feel good, and most importantly, get down.
