Bio
Sugoi is a Japanese term used to express joy, approval and/or something positive. A 2004 trip to Japan brought this word into our vocabulary, and it has stuck ever since.
After dismantling a project in San Francisco (Full Williams Trio), guitarist Rob Grabowski and bassist Dave Ferraris relocated to Washington, DC in search of something new. The ever-growing and extremely handy Craigslist web site helped secure keyboardist/guitarist Alec Silver, as well as drummer Scott Greene, both of whom were already music veterans of the DC area.
Sugoi has been playing local clubs in and around Washington since August of 2004, meeting a lot of great people and bands in the process. Though punk and indie rock seem to call the shots in this town, the band has been able to open up some minds with its progressive blending of roots rock, jazzed-out grooves and reggae riffs.
