"A Pleasure Working With Them"

Event: Taste of Rockford Festival
June 19, 2004

Spin Doctors, Suite Oblivion

"Our opening act for this year’s Taste of Rockford was the perfect choice. SUITE OBLIVION put on a great show and had the crowd involved from their opening song. SUITE OBLIVION was as professional as I was hoping that they would be. From the opening phone call inviting them to the show, all the way to the end, I was impressed with their professionalism. This band is at the level that most other bands wished they could be at. The days following the show, our office received many phone calls telling us how much they enjoyed SUITE OBLIVION. It was a pleasure working with them, and we look forward to working with them again."

Bio

If Oblivion is a state of forgetfulness, then Rockford, Illinois rock quartet Suite Oblivion’s name is simultaneously ironic and aptly descriptive – the band’s music is not easy to forget, and its performance affords the audience at least a temporary escape from the daily grind.

Suite Oblivion is: Mitch Brechon, vocals, acoustic and electric 6 & 12 string guitars, lyrics & music; Jay Mock, lead guitar, backing vocals, music & lyrics; Joel Rostamo, bass guitar, backing vocals, & music; and Kevin Hutchins, drums & music.

Suite Oblivion’s music is a forceful flavor of rock with an underlying pop sensibility and deftly crafted dynamic musical arrangements. Its trademark sound is not “modern” or “alternative” but is, nevertheless, new. Their songs are immediately, often startlingly familiar, evoking memories of bands who have gone before, yet sounding like no one else. By the way, they will bang your head and rock your house down as well.

Suite Oblivion formed in 1998 and released their debut album “Shine” in 2001. The present lineup has been performing and writing together since March 2003.
