Bio

Biography for Glenn Sulley:

I was born in a small town, St. John's, Newfoundland. It is located in eastern Canada; (on the map it's the most easterly point in North America.) I was raised by two wonderful parents who taught me genuine spiritual beliefs and values. My musical roots stem from both of them. My mother has a brilliant voice and my father played guitar and sang a little as well. Apparently, I had an interest in music at a very early age. My mother told me that as a toddler, I would hum with and try to mumble along with songs on the radio, before I could even speak a word. She said "I always knew you would grow up to be a singer, you just seemed to have it in you."
In grade school, I sang in the choir, competed in music festivals and listened to music all of the time. My favorite artist growing up was Billy Joel. He has had an incredible musical influence on me.
It wasn't until 9th grade that I took up interest in the guitar. My father taught me two chords, and in a short time I managed to teach myself the rest. I have never had formal musical training; "I just do what feels right and what comes natural!
In high school, I sang in rock bands, won talent shows and performed lead roles in high school musicals. At one point, I actually played three parts in the musical "Cats." I was a busy teenager! I also found time to be an athlete and excelled in ice hockey and soccer. I also facilitated Christian retreats for the Catholic Church and spent a lot of time working with youth members both spiritually and musically. My freshman year in college, I literally spent all of my time hiding out in the music department writing songs instead of attending classes. One day I woke up and decided to move to the "musical capital of Canada", Toronto, to "give it a shot" in the music business. It was a scary but eye opening experience. After several demos, heartbreaks, and up's and down's, I returned back home to "get a life." I returned to college part-time, and continued to work as a musician seven nights a week. I toured and recorded with an Irish folk band; "The Clancey's" for about three years and also performed solo gigs.
In 1994, I moved to Oklahoma where I met my beautiful bride, Danielle. She is an awesome woman! God has blessed us with two wonderful sons, Colton and Cooper. I am so blessed to have such an amazing family.
I graduated from Southern Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. I am currently employed at the University of Oklahoma. I am a clinic nurse manager for urology at OU Physicians and have been with the department for 13 years. I enjoy working in the medical field, but music remains my passion. Some of my recent accomplishments include: Two Silver Mike awards for local and national jingle work, honorable mention in two national songwriting contests, original compositions recorded by other accomplished musicians in Canada, a music publication in Chalice Praise (compilation of contemporary Christian music), recording with Edmond Christian band, "Walking Temple", urology related lectureship awards and co-author of several urology publications.
I am a member of First Christian Church in Edmond, Oklahoma, where I am currently the band leader for the contemporary worship service. This is an amazing service and I feel honored and blessed to be called "to sing for the Lord" and to be a part of the mission and crusade of the First Christian church. This is where I met up with my co-writer and music partner, the magnificently talented, David Sisson. I am extremely proud of our "Glory Road" project and much honored to be associated with David and the other awesome musicians on our album. I feel God has brought our talents together to help spread his word to the nation. I truly believe that we are "vessels" by which the Lord channels music and words through us, for the purpose of sharing his glory and promises with all of those who will hear his call. I believe that God is using us as his disciples to promote his word and his love to the world. We are charged and proudly accept the call! I hope you enjoy this album as much as we did recording it!
